Engineering Projects in Community Service (EPICS) is a service learning human centered design program where students integrate vertically to solve community problems using engineering solutions. The EPICS program at Purdue originated in 1995 as one-way to provide students with professional skills. At the time faculty felt that engineers were not effective communicators and needed more experience working as a team and with industry. Today there are 21 EPICS University partners. Drexel is a partner school in EPICS projects.
